Silk Shantung is named for the part of China in which it originated. The fabric has a very tight, fine weave with an occasional tiny slub across the grain. It's similar to silk taffeta in look and feel and has a beautiful sheen. Shantung is suitable for dresses, formals, home dec.
One of our designer fabrics, this particular silk comes from the cutting rooms of Christian Dior.
